We’ve received limited reports of USB-C connector overheating/melting on some Avalon Nano 3S units under continuous high load, humid environments, or with partially seated plugs. While the overall incidence remains low, we treat every case seriously and are continuing long-duration and humidity stress testing with our suppliers. Safety is our top priority. We’ve launched a Component Upgrade & Support Program:
  • No-time-limit free upgrade/replacement for affected users.
  • New production uses higher-current-rated connectors.
  • We have no fire reports related to this issue; enclosures/connectors use flame-retardant materials.
What you can do now: ensure the plug is fully seated, use the bundled adapter/cable, avoid humid/condensing locations (garages/warehouses may need dehumidification), relieve cable strain, and power off immediately if you notice abnormal heat or odor.

We’ll keep monitoring field data and improving for safety and stability. For support: support.canaan.io (include S/N and photos to expedite).
